Originally from Allegany, New York, Mr. Augustini moved to Houston in 2012 after a career in the Navy. Mr. Augustini has over 30 years’ experience as an educator working primarily with adult and high school students. Mr. Augustini received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University in Biology. Already a paramedic instructor at that time, he taught at local colleges and fire/EMS academies before joining the Navy. In addition to being a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman (combat medic) for most of his Navy career, Mr. Augustini became a Master Training Specialist in the Navy teaching and running a variety of schools and courses for the Navy as well as other branches. While serving in the Navy, Mr. Augustini continued to teach undergraduate and graduate classes at colleges near his various duty stations over his Naval career. Near the end of his Naval career, Mr. Augustini started a training company that relocated with him to Texas in 2012 where he taught for high schools, colleges, and adult professionals. He has been a catechist for many years as well as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Instructor with BSA since 1996. Mr. Augustini is also in formation to the Diaconate for the Diocese of Victoria through St. Mary’s Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity and Masters in Pastoral Studies. You will often see Mr. Augustini in the sanctuary serving during Mass as part of formation here at Our Lady of the Gulf and her mission, St. Joseph’s, in Port O’Connor where he and his family are parishioners.
